Sharing dashboards is an effective way for your teams to collaborate on Keypup.

You can share dashboards with any of your team members (learn how to add someone to your team).

Share a dashboard with a team member or edit a role

Use the Share button on top of any dashboard for which you are the Owner or an Editor.

From the sharing modal, write your team members’ names or use the dropdown button to add the user to the “Shared with” list. Use the role button on the right of any user to edit or modify the access permissions.

Upon sharing a dashboard, users will receive a notification email, and the dashboard will be pinned to their sidebar.

Note that you can add, remove, or change users' permissions from this modal at any time.

Enable access to a dashboard for your whole team

You can set default team permissions on a dashboard under the General access section.

Dashboards shared this way do not trigger any notification email and are not automatically pinned to the sidebar. Users can access these dashboards from their collections.

Roles and Permissions

Each Keypup role provides a range of permissions on the dashboards and attached insights:

Owner: the creator of a dashboard. They can:

  • Share the dashboard with anyone on the team.

  • Edit the dashboard. These modifications will be passed to all dashboard members.

  • Edit insights that belong to the dashboard. These modifications will be passed to all dashboard members.

  • Remove insights from the dashboard. These insights will be removed from the dashboards and collections of all members, but the owner keeps a copy of it.

  • Permanently delete the dashboard. The dashboard will be deleted from the collections of all members.

  • Permanently delete insights that belong to the dashboard. These insights will be deleted from the dashboards and collections of all members.

  • Export insights data.

Editor: a user who has been invited to contribute to a dashboard. They can:

  • Share the dashboard with anyone on the team.

  • Edit the dashboard. These modifications will be passed to all dashboard members.

  • Edit insights that belong to the dashboard. These modifications will be passed to all dashboard members.

  • Remove insights from the dashboard. These modifications will be passed to all dashboard members, but the owner of the insight will keep the original insight in their collection.

  • Modify and save the dashboard-wide filters.

  • Export insights data.

Viewer: a user who has been invited to view a dashboard. They can:

  • View the dashboard in read-only mode.

  • View the insights attached to the dashboard in their collection (“Shared with me”).

  • [Except Guest Users] Play with the dashboard-wide filters without saving them. Guest users are prevented from doing this action. They can only view the dashboard "as-is".
