Keypup reads your OpenAI API usage with an Admin API key of your OpenAI organization. This article explains how to create one.
A project API key is not enough. The keys your applications use to call the OpenAI API (starting with sk-proj-) cannot read usage reports. Only an Admin API key, starting with sk-admin-, can.
Prerequisites
You must be an owner of the OpenAI organization on platform.openai.com. Only owners can create Admin API keys.
Create the Admin API key
Sign in to platform.openai.com and go to Settings > Organization > Admin keys.
Click Create new admin key and name it, for example
Keypup.Copy the key, which starts with
sk-admin-. It is only shown once.
Then, in Keypup, go to Settings > App management, click Connect on OpenAI Platform and paste the key.
Keypup only reads usage reports and your organization's member list with this key. It never changes anything in your organization.
