The Configuration Assistant is the quickest and easiest way to configure an insight according to your needs. You can use it to apply your preferred configuration without any manual fine-tuning.

To access the Configuration Assistant, click the Add insight button on the right corner of the dashboard, then click Browse template & collections to open the selection modal, then select one of the insights from the Keypup templates section.

When the modal opens choose Configuration assistant to be redirected to the interface (learn about the other choices for the configuration).

The Configuration Assistant interface is structured in two parts

  • The list of questions, on the left side, is where you configure your insight

  • The preview, on the right side, shows you the insight you are creating.

To create your new insight, all three steps must be completed:

  1. Answer the questions

  2. Document your insight

  3. Review your insight

Answer the questions

Answer the questions to make the insight suit your needs. To make the process easier, most answers are pre-filled with popular options.

Keypup uses your answers to automatically apply a suitable configuration to your insight. This configuration can later be edited via the Insight Builder.

Each question is documented to help you understand how and why the answer is used. Click the (?) button next to the question to open the contextual help.

You can always revert to the default insight configuration by clicking the Reset answers to default button in the lower part of the page.

After completing all answers, click the Next button at the bottom of the page.

Add documentation

The documentation allows you to add meaningful information that will be readable by other users through the (?) icon that appears at the top right of every insight.

The documentation is pre-filled based on the template you have selected. You should review and update this documentation based on the answers you provided in the previous step and add some context to it (โ€œWhy do you measure this in the context of your team?โ€).

If you wish to review the answers you have provided, you can always come back to the previous steps by clicking the < button on the top left.

When you are satisfied with the documentation, click the Next button at the bottom of the page.

Review your insight

This is the final step, where, you can decide what to do with this new insight:

  • Add it to your dashboard

  • Save it to your collections for future use

  • Fine-tune its configuration using the advanced builder.

Select a save option and you will be redirected out of the Configuration Assistant interface.
