The insight edition screen allows you to configure the number of data points displayed on a chart, KPI, or report.
Configuring a limit on charts
By default, charts retrieve at most 10,000 data points (in paginated calls of 1,000 data points).
If you notice the limit (input on the left) is below the number of records on the right, you may decide to increase the limit.
To do so, simply enter a new limit in the input provided above the table. Keep in mind that charts with a higher number of data points to display will take longer to load.
On the contrary, you may decide to display fewer records than are available in the query, for display or performance reasons. In this case, simply enter the desired limit in the input above the table.
If the configured limit is below the available number of records, a small warning sign will appear on the insight to let you know that not all available data points are displayed on the insight. You can ignore this warning if the limitation is intentional, as in the use cases above.
Configuring a limit on KPIs
KPIs with a chart style view (trend, sparkline, column) enforce a fixed number of results for clarity purposes.
The number of data points displayed in the chart section can be configured by going to the Configure Chart section, then selecting a value from the dropdown.
The rows highlighted in blue indicate which records are considered for the KPI chart. You can change the sorting to display the "head" (e.g., oldest records) or the "tail" (e.g,. most recent records) of the query.
Configuring a limit on reports
Reports are automatically paginated. You can configure the number of records to display per page by selecting a value in the dropdown at the bottom of the insight.
You can then navigate through pages using the arrows at the bottom right of the report.
